In the past, the Desktop version of QuickBooks has been the version of choice for most users. Intuit is now trying to move all users to the QuickBooks Online version. As of July 31, 2024, new users are no longer able to purchase the Desktop version, with the exception of the Enterprise Edition.
Existing users are grandfathered in and will still be able to pay a yearly subscription fee to keep using the Desktop version.
